The BMW M2 CS is the most extreme version of the M2 G87. Unveiled in 2025 and produced in a limited run at BMW’s San Luis Potosí plant in Mexico, it features specific modifications designed to bring the compact coupe closer to the world of track-focused BMW M cars: increased power, weight reduction, dedicated chassis tuning, and carbon-fiber aerodynamic components.
Its 3.0-liter twin-turbo S58 inline-six engine produces 530 hp and 650 Nm of torque—an increase of 50 hp and 50 Nm over the standard M2. All this power is sent exclusively to the rear wheels via an eight-speed M Steptronic transmission with Drivelogic; neither a manual gearbox nor all-wheel drive is offered. The M2 CS accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 302 km/h with the standard-fit M Driver’s Package.
It features reinforced engine mounts, a specific Adaptive M suspension, the Active M Differential, forged wheels, and numerous carbon-fiber components, including the roof, rear diffuser, trunk spoiler, and front bumper elements. The reported weight saving is approximately 30 kg compared to the conventional M2 equipped with the automatic transmission.
The M2 CS set a record for compact cars on the Nürburgring Nordschleife: on April 11, 2025, Jörg Weidinger completed the 20.832 km circuit in 7:25.5, beating the previous class record by eight seconds. BMW subsequently announced an official, certified time of 7:18.137, highlighting the M2's track potential.
