The Deutsch de la Meurthe Cup created in 1909 allowed, as the Schneider Cup, a spectacular technological development of the aviation. The Caudron planes with their extraordinary silhouettes could reach speeds of nearly 400 km/h with a Renault engine of a very relative power for the time (330 CV). We are during the Deutsch Cup of 1934. Here we see Maurice Arnoux, the pilot of the famous Caudron No. 13, overtaking a Bugatti Type 35, whose pilot greets him.
