The Ford GT40 was built with one goal in mind, to win the 24 hours of Le Mans, and beat Ferrari. Target reached four consecutive times between 1966 and 1969 ! A car, the GT40 P/1075, even became the first car to win the race twice in 1968 and 1969. The Ford GT40 also won the World Championship of Sports Cars in 1968 as well as many major races : 12hrs from Sebring, 24hrs from Daytona, 1000kms from Paris ... before Porsche comes to show who is the boss in endurance races!
