"It is the most beautiful car of all time", Enzo Ferrari about the Jaguar E-type. Of all the brands that embodied the spirit of the English sports car in the post-war period - Austin-Healey, Hillman, Lotus, MG, Morgan, Triumph - Jaguar is undoubtedly the one that has made entire generations dream. Born under the sign of the first Standard Swallow in the early thirties, Jaguar metamorphoses from the fifties and sixties to offer roadsters, coupes and convertibles whose feline lines and sporty performance definitively sealed the reputation of excellence of the brand.

The reputation of the XK 120, 140 and 150 models made Jaguar successful in the United States, the leading automobile market of the time, culminating in 1961 with the legendary E-Type, a true icon of the swinging sixties. Thanks to its impressive track record in competition, notably in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Jaguar has never lost this sporting connotation, even if its name also evokes a whole line of top-of-the-range sedans with "so British" comfort, such as the famous Mk2 or the XJ series which marked the 1970s and 1980s.

Under the aegis of Paul Walton, editor-in-chief of Jaguar World magazine, Colin Salter, an automotive historian, has brought together in this book the 30 most emblematic models of the brand, from the SS1 of 1931 to the all-new XKSS, which will be released next year at the Geneva Motor Show. He was able to gather an exceptional iconography to present each model by calling upon specialized photographers and by obtaining documents in preview directly from the brand.

He invites us to dive into the incomparable universe of class and refinement that characterizes this exceptional brand.
