On June 6, 1944, at dawn, D-day of Operation Overlord, the Douglas C-47 Skytrain aircraft nicknamed "That's all brother" (personal message to Hitler) was taking flight at the head of an armada of 800 other aircrafts. From these aircrafts, a few hours later, 13,000 American parachutists jumped off on the coast of Normandy, marking the beginning of the liberation of France followed a few months later by the end of World War II.
