The G90 generation of the BMW M5 introduces a plug-in hybrid architecture, combining a 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor for a combined output of approximately 727 hp and over 1,000 Nm of torque, delivered to all four wheels via the M xDrive system. Despite a weight exceeding 2.5 tons, this powertrain enables supercar performance, with a 0 to 100 km/h time of around 3.5 seconds and a top speed of over 300 km/h with the M Driver's Package.

The design follows that of the G60 5 Series, but is significantly enhanced by BMW M: highly sculpted bumpers, widened fenders, specific side skirts, a diffuser with diagonally stacked exhaust outlets, and imposing M wheels. Spectacular colors like Isle of Man Green and Fire Red (Vegas Red) accentuate these aggressive lines and quickly became iconic combinations for the early M5 G90 models.
