A World Rally Car version derived from the Escort RS Cosworth, the Escort WRC boasts a 2.0-liter turbo engine producing approximately 300 hp, four-wheel drive, and a sequential gearbox to compete in the 1997 World Rally Championship. At the Rally Catalunya, it was entered by drivers including Carlos Sainz and Luis Moya, sporting a factory livery reminiscent of the late 90s WRC era, featuring widened fenders, a large rear wing, and distinctive sponsor graphics.

The Ottomobile 1/18 scale model reproduces Sainz's Escort WRC from the 1997 Rally Catalunya, with its wide body, rally wheels, and all the racing markings faithfully printed.
