Starting from pole position, Hamilton dominated the race and led for most of the 52 laps before extreme tire wear dramatically altered the course in the closing moments. On a one-stop strategy, Hamilton completed a long stint on hard tires, facing unprecedented stresses at the fast Silverstone corner, until several punctures struck first Bottas and then Sainz towards the end of the race. On the very last lap, the front left tire of the #44 exploded, forcing the Briton to cover the final kilometers practically on the rim, with Verstappen in hot pursuit on fresh tires. Despite an unbalanced car and a rapidly declining pace, Hamilton managed to control the W11, skillfully navigating each corner and maintaining just enough of a lead to cross the finish line first, less than six seconds ahead.
