The Honda S2000 CR (Club Racer), launched in 2007 for the North American market, is a more radical version of the S2000 AP2, designed for track day enthusiasts with a stiffer chassis, higher-performance tires, and revised aerodynamics (large fixed rear wing, front splitter, and a soft top replaced with a hardtop). It retains the naturally aspirated 2.2-liter VTEC F22C1 four-cylinder engine producing approximately 237–240 hp, but gains in steering precision, grip, and track performance, to the point of often being considered the most refined and desirable version of the S2000 line for pure performance driving.
