Unveiled in 1954, the Mercedes-Benz 300 SL ‘Gullwing’ is a true icon of automotive design and technology. Born out of motor racing, it achieved legendary status thanks to its famous butterfly doors hinged to the roof and its direct-injection 6-cylinder engine – a world first in a production car.
