Real Model – Opel Manta GSi 1987

The 1987 Opel Manta GSi represents one of the final evolutions of the Manta B coupé, a model originally launched in 1975 and produced until 1988. A direct competitor to the Ford Capri, it features a classic layout with a longitudinally mounted front engine and rear-wheel drive, combined with a two-door, four-seat body style.

From 1983 onwards, the "GSi" badge replaced "GT/E" in most European markets, although the latter designation was retained in the United Kingdom.

In 1987, the Manta GSi was equipped with a fuel-injected 2.0-liter inline-four engine (code 20E), producing 107 hp and 162 Nm of torque. Paired with a five-speed manual transmission, it achieved a top speed of 186 km/h and accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.3 seconds.

After 1986, the GSi became the final version remaining in production, prior to the Manta’s discontinuation in 1988 and its indirect replacement by the Opel Calibra.
