The Peugeot 306 Cabriolet, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in the autumn of 1993 and released to the market in March 1994, is the open-top version of the French compact car. Designed and developed by Pininfarina, it is distinguished by a body without a visible central roll bar and a unique rear section that allows the soft top to be completely concealed when folded. These design choices give it a particularly clean silhouette when the top is down.

The 1994 model belongs to the first production phase, recognizable by a front end that is more angular than that of the later, restyled versions. At launch, the engine lineup included a 1.8-liter gasoline engine producing 103 hp and a 2.0-liter engine producing 123 hp. The 306 Cabriolet remained in production until July 2002, becoming the final body style in the 306 family to be discontinued.
