The Car
The 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am became a true pop culture icon thanks to its starring role in the action comedy "Smokey and the Bandit" (1977). Driven on screen by the legendary Burt Reynolds (The Bandit), the car served as a spectacular decoy to lure the police whilst a lorry transported its illegal cargo. Its stunts, skids and jumps over bridges propelled sales of the real-life model to historic heights. In its Starlight Black livery, with its imposing gold ‘Screaming Chicken’ on the bonnet, its Shaker air intake and its ‘Snowflake’ alloy wheels, it remains one of the most iconic vehicles in American cinema.
