The real car

Rounding off the Zuffenhausen-based firm’s spectacular performance at the 1956 12 Hours of Sebring, the No. 66 Porsche 550 Spyder was entrusted to the Americans Mike Marshall and Jan Brundage, supported by the legendary team principal Huschke von Hanstein. Despite the challenges of the Florida circuit and the gruelling nature of the race, the German roadster, powered by a 1.5-litre four-cam engine, once again proved its indestructible reliability. Following a solid and disciplined performance, the crew secured an impressive 14th place in the overall standings, sealing Porsche’s collective triumph on American soil.

The 1/43 scale model

Spark offers a highly sought-after edition, produced in a limited run of 300 individually numbered models (ref. US464). Crafted from resin on a 1/43 scale, this model perfectly captures the sleek lines of the No. 66 Spyder from the 1956 Sebring race, featuring a dazzling silver paint finish, period markings of surgical precision and a remarkable level of detail in the cockpit.
