The Porsche 911 T/R #116 is a rare and iconic competition version of the 911, specially prepared for rallying and road racing in the late 1960s. Entered in the 1968 Monte Carlo Rally, it achieved a superb second place overall, confirming Porsche's growing strength in the world of international rallying.
Based on the 911 T, the T/R (“Touring/Racing”) version benefited from reduced weight, engine preparation derived from the 911 S, and power output approaching 210 horsepower for a weight of less than one ton. Coupled with a 5-speed manual gearbox and precise rear-wheel drive, it offered exceptional handling on winding and snowy roads.
