The Porsche 911 S 2.4 (type 911B) was produced for the 1972–1973 model years and represented the top of the 911 “F” range before the arrival of the G models with their distinctive bellows-style bumpers. It was equipped with a 2.4-liter (2,341 cc) Bosch-fuel-injected flat-six engine, developing approximately 190 hp at 6,500 rpm and 216 Nm of torque, paired with a 4- or 5-speed manual transmission and rear-wheel drive.

Weighing around 1,070–1,080 kg, the 911 S 2.4 reached a top speed of approximately 230 km/h and accelerated from 0 to 100 km/h in just over 7 seconds, making it one of the fastest road-going sports cars of its time. The 1972 model year is also known for its oil tank positioned in front of the right rear wheel, a feature quickly abandoned but highly sought after by enthusiasts today.
