The Porsche 911 Carrera RSR 2.8 is a racing version of the 911, developed for the 1973 season based on the Carrera RS 2.7. Lighter, wider, and more powerful, it was designed for major endurance and Grand Touring races. It is distinguished by its heavily flared fenders, racing wheels, vented front hood, "ducktail" rear spoiler, and stripped-out interior.

Its air-cooled flat-six engine, mounted in the rear overhang, has a displacement of 2,806 cc. Fed by Bosch mechanical fuel injection and featuring twin-plug ignition, it develops approximately 300 hp. Paired with a five-speed manual gearbox, the RSR weighs around 900 kg and ranks among the most formidable race cars of its era. It notably achieved success in 1973 at Daytona, Sebring, and the Targa Florio.
