The Porsche 911 (964) Carrera Cup USA Edition is a very limited series derived from the 964 Carrera RS, built in 1992 to supply a one-make Carrera Cup championship in the United States, which was ultimately canceled before its launch. These cars are based on European Carrera RS models adapted to American standards, then sent to Andial to be prepared to race specifications (continuously welded reinforced chassis, aluminum hood, limited-slip differential, weight reduction, 3.6-liter M64 "blueprinted" engine producing approximately 256 hp).
In total, 45 Carrera Cup USA examples were produced, all (or almost all) delivered in Grand Prix White, with some road-going modifications mandated by the DOT (airbags, US bumpers, safety equipment) before being sold through the Porsche network after the championship's cancellation. These very lightweight 964s, designed for both racing and street use, are now considered one of the rarest and most legendary variants of the 964 family, on par with the RS and RS America.
