Real Model – Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Type 964 Turbo Look Cabriolet 1992
The Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Cabriolet Turbo-Look (type 964) is a special edition offered in 1992-1993. It features the widened body and chassis of the 911 Turbo 3.3, but with the naturally aspirated 3.6-liter engine from the Carrera 2. It thus offers the "Turbo look" (wider fenders, wider track, upgraded brakes and suspension) without the turbocharger or the "whale tail" spoiler, while retaining the 250 hp of the M64/01 flat-six engine and the performance of a Carrera 2 Cabriolet.
Produced in approximately 1,500 units over two model years, this version is considered one of the most desirable 964 Cabriolet configurations, combining the clean lines of the naturally aspirated 964 with the muscular look of the Turbo models of the era. In some markets, it is known as the "America Roadster," adopting the principle of a widened body on a naturally aspirated engine.
Miniature – Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Type 964 Turbo Look Cabriolet 1992 Zermatt Silver Metallic 1/18 Norev (187140)
This Norev 1/18 scale miniature reproduces the 1992 911 Turbo Look Cabriolet with the Turbo's wide body: significantly widened front and rear fenders, visually wider track, and wraparound bumpers typical of the 964. The Zermatt Silver Metallic paint covers the entire body and highlights the taut lines of the front bumper, the curve of the fenders, and the spoilerless rear end.
The model features four opening parts (front hood, engine compartment, doors), allowing a glimpse of the front compartment, the passenger compartment, and the flat-six engine at the rear. The soft top is shown in the open position, revealing the detailed interior: 964 dashboard, five-dial instrumentation, sculpted front seats, and rear bench seat. Cup wheels and low-profile tires generously fill the wheel arches, completing the characteristic Turbo look of this 911 convertible.
