The real car
Fielded by the Martini Racing Team at the 1974 24 Hours of Le Mans, the No. 21 Porsche 911 Carrera Turbo RSR marked the dawn of a new era in which turbocharging revolutionised endurance racing. Driven by the Austrian Helmuth Koinigg and Manfred Schurti from Liechtenstein, this legendary car produced over 500 ch whilst remaining a featherweight, instantly recognisable by its imposing rear wing and ultra-wide wings. Adorned with the iconic blue and red stripes on a silver background, it epitomises the origins of Porsche’s racing beasts of the 1970s.
The 1/43 scale model
Spark has produced a faithful resin replica (ref. S9791) paying tribute to this No. 21 Carrera Turbo RSR from the 1974 Le Mans.
