Ferdinand Porsche had surrounded himself with skilled engineers, technicians, and drivers for the Sascha adventure. Logically, one of his friends, the engineer Karl Rabe, succeeded him at Austro-Daimler, and the Sascha's development for competition continued in the Porsche spirit. Increasingly powerful engines were fitted to the small car's chassis. In 1927, driver Hans Stuck was hired to participate in the hill climb championship. He quickly grasped the potential of his car, and following his instructions, the Sascha became even more refined. Victories followed one after another from 1929 onwards, and the hill climb championship title cemented the duo's success in 1930. The Sascha had lost its nickname; it was now called the ADM-R and was presented as the flagship of a prestigious range of cars, much like the Tatras of the time. It still benefits from Ferdinand Porsche's brilliant design, and even, with its 3-litre/120 HP engine developed by Rabe, from the excellent relations that he maintains with his former collaborators.
