The love affair between Porsche and Lohner ends sadly in 1905. Ferdinand Porsche is now an engineer with a well-established reputation, and he choose Daimler to continue his career. Daimler is at this time a true leader in the field of modern combustion engines, thanks to the particular work of the engineer Wilhelm Maybach.

But it was with designer Otto Köhler and production technicians Otto Stahl and Oswald Kux that Ferdinand Porsche develop in 1908 the second mass-produced car of his career, the 28/32. The commercial name of this model is "Maja", named after the daughter of businessman Emil Jellinek, owner of the brand and already creator of the "Mercedes" - his other daughter - the year before.

Under different names, the car will become the main model of the pre-war Austro Daimler offer. At the time, it is common to customize cars: in December 1907, Archduke Leopold Salvator, Inspector General of the Armies, order the coachbuilder Cerny the splendid 28/32 "de Ville" shown here in miniature.
