Unveiled at the 2023 Finali Mondiali at the Mugello circuit, the Ferrari 296 Challenge is the ninth car designed for the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo Pirelli and makes its racing debut in the 2024 season. It is the first Ferrari in the single-make series to feature a V6 engine, breaking with the V8 tradition established by all previous Challenge models. Derived from the 296 GTB, it ditches the hybrid system to save weight and utilizes a 700 hp, 740 Nm twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6, delivering a record-breaking specific output of 234 hp/liter. With a dry weight of 1,330 kg and over 870 kg of downforce at 250 km/h in its maximum aero configuration, the 296 Challenge significantly pushes the performance boundaries of the category.
