Real Model – 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 Mk II

The Shelby Cobra was born in the early 1960s from Carroll Shelby's idea to graft a large Ford V8 into the lightweight AC Cars roadster chassis, giving rise to one of the most legendary sports cars in history. After the 260 and then 289 ci versions (Mk I and Mk II), the Cobra 427 (often called the Mk III) appeared in 1965 with a 427 ci (7.0-liter) "big block" Ford V8 producing around 420 hp in its road-going configurations, designed to compete with the highest-performing prototypes and GTs of the time.

The Cobra 427 features a reinforced chassis, wider track, more flared fenders, a redesigned suspension, and more powerful brakes, resulting in exceptional performance for its time: less than 5 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h and a top speed of over 260 km/h depending on the version and modifications. Produced in very limited numbers in the mid-1960s, it became an absolute icon of the European muscle car, to the point of being one of the most replicated cars in the world today.

Miniature – Shelby Cobra 427 Mk II 1965 Silver / Martini Stripes 1/18 Solido (S1804913)

This 1/18 scale Solido miniature reproduces the 1965 Shelby Cobra 427 MkII in silver, in a die-cast finish that highlights the raw lines of the American roadster. Made from die-cast metal, the body is crafted from zamac with opening doors and steerable front wheels, offering a good compromise between playability and display.

The body faithfully reproduces the design cues of the Cobra 427: wide fenders, a long hood with an air intake, muscular wheel arches, no fixed roof, and a roll bar behind the driver, all finished in a classic silver that accentuates the chassis's curves. The interior is detailed with a dashboard featuring round gauges, a three-spoke steering wheel, and simple bucket seats, making this 1/18 scale Cobra an ideal addition to a collection dedicated to great American icons, legendary roadsters, or sports cars of the 1960s.
