The Volkswagen Scirocco GTX 16V (1988)
Considered the culmination of the second generation of the Wolfsburg coupé, the Scirocco GTX 16V is a true icon of the 1980s. Under the bonnet, the 1.8-litre 16-valve injection engine developing 139 hp gave it outstanding performance, capable of rivalling the best sports cars of its time. With its specific body kit including wing extensions, imposing side skirts and large rear spoiler splitting the rear window, it had a resolutely dynamic and aerodynamic look, typical of Volkswagen's ‘techno’ era.
