Real Model – Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo LM n° 23 – 24h Le Mans 1996

The 1996 Nissan GT-R Nismo LM was developed from the Skyline GT-R R33 to comply with LM GT1 regulations and compete at Le Mans in 1995–1996, as part of Nissan/NISMO’s "Le Mans Challenge: 3-year plan." It retained the twin-turbo inline-six RB26DETT engine—though enlarged to approximately 2.8 liters and featuring dry-sump lubrication and a lower mounting position—delivering over 600 hp and more than 617 Nm of torque.

The chassis remained based on the Skyline’s steel monocoque but was heavily modified, featuring widened bodywork, increased track widths, and double-wishbone suspension at all four corners; the LM version was configured with rear-wheel drive. At the 1996 Le Mans race, the GT-R LM took on the era's major GT1 contenders (Porsche, McLaren, Ferrari), showcasing the GT-R's "Godzilla" endurance racing heritage.

The 1:18 scale OttOmobile model of the 1996 Nissan GT-R Nismo LM captures the widened silhouette of the Skyline LM: highly prominent bumpers, flared fenders, sculpted side skirts, and a massive rear wing, all combined with a lower ride height and a significantly wider stance than the road-going R33. The proportions faithfully mirror the actual car (approximately 4.68 m long, 1.88 m wide, and 1.30 m high in 1:1 scale), rendered in resin at 1:18 scale to convey a highly muscular presence. The livery features the NISMO racing scheme—complete with its signature colors, race numbers, and sponsor logos—while the large wheels, wide tires (315/40 R18 front, 335/40 R18 rear), and aerodynamic elements (air intakes, extractors, splitters) are finely molded. Visible through the windows, the racing cockpit reveals the roll cage, bucket seat, and stripped-down dashboard, rounding out a static model that clearly highlights the LM GT1 character of this 1996 GT-R.
