Weingut Knauß is a family vineyard in Wurtemberg, Germany. After several years of belonging to a winemaking cooperative, the Knauß family raises all their 15 hectares of vineyards on their own. As a winer, Andreas Knauß integrates the family objective: “We produce wines that arouse curiosity and express our way of thinking and cultivating it with deep conviction.

In the private fields of Altenberg and Nonnenberg, the wines of Knauß are produced on Keuper's soil and altered straw. Vines are raised at optimal heights, so that each grape species has its best location. The aim is to significantly reduce yields in favour of optimal quality. With a systematic manual selective harvest, only perfectly healthy, aromatic and ripe grapes are found in stainless steel tanks, wooden barrels and barrels, and later in wine bottles.

Knauß's production consists for two thirds of red grapes Trollinger, Lemberger, Pinot Noir and Merlot and for one third of white grapes Riesling, Pinott Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Foam wines fermented in bottles are also produced and, depending on the weather conditions, an ice wine. All these products are strictly environmentally friendly, for the vineyard as well as for the winery.
