Benjamin Freudenthal has been drawing since his childhood. Fascinated by the magic of the aviation scenes represented on the model boxes of his childhood, his heart oscillates between planes and cars. He explains that for a painting to be successful, the landscape matters more than the subject: "If you capture the air temperature, the time of day (to the hour), and the speed of a car, then you are in the presence of a great painting. There is still the originality of the composition, a determining factor, so that all the ingredients are present.

We are in 1955... during "Le Mans". Mike Hawthorn (Jaguar type D) and Juan Manuel Fangio (Mercedes 300 SLR) are too fast for Eugène Castelotti (Ferrari). A few hours later, a tragical accident forces the Mercedes team to stop. Finally the young British driver wins the race : a victory with a bitter taste.
